Checklist – You must always include:
- Title of degree i.e. Mechanical Engineering
- Degree classification ie 2: 1 / First
- Dates of study i.e. 2000 - 2003
- Name of institution i.e. University of Southampton
- Level of qualification ie, Meng
Modules
It is always best to give a prospective employer an idea of the
modules that you have studied whilst at university. Core modules
studied at university will be sufficient.
Final Year Project
This information is very important to a prospective employer.
It is not sufficient to mention only the title of your project.
A paragraph (5/6 lines) of detail about you project will be sufficient.
Try to include all the skills that you have learnt.
Skills Summary
Try to include a section which includes all relevant skills that
you have learnt whilst studying.
This could include programming languages, computer packages, CAD
packages, modelling tools etc.
Education prior to degree
If you have studied A level’s, state which grades have
been achieved.
If you studied by another route ie BTEC or GNVQ state the level
achieved, ie distinction.
You do not have to state each GCSE and the level achieved, English,
Maths and Science will suffice.
