Modules

It is always best to give a prospective employer an idea of the modules that you have studied whilst at university. Core modules studied at university will be sufficient.

This information is very important to a prospective employer. It is not sufficient to mention only the title of your project. A paragraph (5/6 lines) of detail about you project will be sufficient. Try to include all the skills that you have learnt.

Skills Summary

Try to include a section which includes all relevant skills that you have learnt whilst studying.
This could include programming languages, computer packages, CAD packages, modelling tools etc.

Education prior to degree

If you have studied A level’s, state which grades have been achieved.
If you studied by another route ie BTEC or GNVQ state the level achieved, ie distinction.

You do not have to state each GCSE and the level achieved, English, Maths and Science will suffice.

Advice for Graduates who require a work Permit

If you are not a national of a European Economic Area country you may require a work permit. There are some exceptions including the highly skilled migrant program.

If you need a work permit you will have to follow the procedure as set out by Britain's Home Office.

You cannot apply for a work permit yourself. You must secure a position with a company, and the company will apply for a work permit on your behalf.

For more information on work permits please consult:
